Leia is nobody’s slave! (Win these earrings)
All the cool design elements of the slave Leia costume without any of the objectification.
I designed these earrings to match the style and colors of the Leia’s bikini costume from Return of the Jedi. Interestingly enough, my favorite design aspect of the costume is the gold pattern and overall shape of the soft leather boots, so I decided to design the structure of the earrings after them.
With this design, I took women’s clothing that was created for men to drool over, and I reclaimed it for women.
I will award these earrings to whoever can do the same thing to the whole costume. Keep the style/colors/materials, but draw a version of the slave Leia costume that the princess would wear, willingly and proudly, for everyday galaxy-saving.

Considering entering because a) cool earrings and b) I’ve been thinking about embarking on a project where I redraw science fiction ladies as, well, ladies, and not objects. Modesty! So I worked up three possible doodles for a slave Leia redesign. Let me know which concept is your favorite:
Don’t say all three. I wish I had time to develop that, but I don’t. At least, I don’t think so. C’mon, help me with my first science fiction art project!

As a joke, Arthur Conan Doyle once sent five letters to five friends that read, “We are discovered, flee immediately”, to see what they would do. One of them disappeared and Conan Doyle never saw him again. — QI (E Series - Espionage)
